Hospital Meet and Greet Service

If you would like to become a Volunteer at Whangarei Hospital we currently have vacancies for Volunteers in our Meet and Greet Service.

All you need is to be friendly and have a few hours to spare each week.

Our Meet and Greet Volunteers provide a warm welcome and support to patients and visitors as they arrive at Whangarei Hospital the duties are to assist people with wheelchairs and those with special needs and disabilities. Direct and assist people to wards, outpatient clinics, deliver patient mail and flowers, keep the waiting rooms stocked with magazines.

A uniform and identification badge will be provided. All Volunteers have free access to car parking while they are volunteering.

We ask for a 6-month commitment.

Training
All Volunteers will be trained under our buddy system until they feel comfortable to work alone.

Volunteers have the support of the front entrance staff at all times.

Specific requirements
Friendly, outgoing, willing to go the extra mile to make everyone's visit to Whangarei Hospital a little easier.
